About Bethan and her jewellery
Bethan was once a snotty nosed 6 year old with a pet lamb called Timothy and a pet hen called Hoppy! Spending most of her days on her grandparents farm always wearing wellies and covered in mud, helping Taid (grandfather) muck out the cow shed, plucking chicken feathers for sunday dinner and helping drive the tractor through muddy fields! Every Sunday a group of about 5-6 went for long country side walks all wearing green wellies, which Nain (grandmother) decided to call our group 'The Green Wellie Brigade'.
Fast forward 31 years, and after completing a BA(Hons) Applied Arts degree in Glyndwr University, this is the result. A unique collection of handmade jewellery made using a variety of techniques from silversmithing, wax carving and casting. Her work incorporates miniature farmyard animals and handmade oak leaf jewellery, jewellery hand made from copper, bronze, silver, gold vermeil and gold.
After years of working from her garden shed, in January 2015 she finally opened her own workshop in Glynllifon, set between the beautiful Llyn Penynsila and the historic town of Caernarfon, North Wales.
Bethan’s Farmyard Gate Bracelet was featured on S4C’s Fferm Factor, a popular Welsh agricultural competition where teams compete for the Fferm Ffactor title. Bethan also designed and made cufflinks for the winners.
